This forecast covers the current state of the water heater industry through the end of 2013 from the manufactuer’s perspective.
A.O. Smith – “We are seeing a demand for more energy efficient products. Condensing tankless water heaters and high efficiency tank products (condensing, heat pump, solar, ect….) continue to draw interest in key markets.”
Bradford White– “High efficiency will be one area of focus for the industry for water heaters. Our commitment to profeesional installers, giving them high quality, dependable products through our wholesale only approach remains the backbone of Bradford White’s sales philosophy”
Rheem– “There’s a lot of momentum for the high-efficiency residential water heating marketplace going on in 2013. President Obama just signed a bill that extends tax credits for heat pump water heaters and certain high-efficiency tankless gas water heaters. This is where our focus will be.”
Noritz– “In 2013, we will continue to see the emergence PVC- vented water heating products for Noritz as well as the category of tankless water heaters as a whole”
Navien– “The water heater market is going to continue its trend toward more efficient products, and Navien is positioned to take advantage of these trends. The new American Energy Manufacturing Technical Corrections Ace (H.R. 6582) passed by congress in December is designated to standardize the efficiency ratings on all water heaters. With this new legislation, a large majority of water heaters will be unable to qualify for the rebates being offered by the various gas utilities companies around the country. This will push more consumers toward condensing products by 2014, when the act is scheduled to go into effect.”
